FirefoxとX3D

Wingsのオフィシャルフォーラム(ギャラリー)に「リアルタイムシェーディングで楽しもうよ！」と投稿したら、「Firefoxでプラグインが動かないぞ！」と指摘されました。調べてみたらVRML(.wrl)はOKなんですが、X3Dは未対応のようでした。

この調査のついでに世間でも噂のFirefoxを自分も入れてみました。動きは早くて好印象でしたが、操作性がピンと来なくてプライマリのブラウザに昇格することはできませんでした。ちなみに私はこのブラウザを使っています。

このブラウザを使う理由は、操作性（マウスジェスチャーとタブ）の良さとIEコンポートネントを使っている事による汎用性です。マウスジェスチャーは他の方法でも利用できますが、常駐するものが多くなるのは嫌いなのでその方向には行きません。その後、FireFoxのマウスジェスチャープラグインとか知りました。これはいい感じ！

Turn on headlight (in popup menu) if it is black screen.

Camera control by the mouse in Examine mode
